"Love His People Free Yard Giveaway" - Black Hawk Way 


God surely is into the miraculous and greatly shines His love when His Word is being shared and when precious people are being touched by His Love.  A group of 16 from Rosh Pinah and Oasis of Truth gathered together as “One New Man” representing Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles to share the love of Christ with the Black Hawk Way community in Toronto, ON.  

This was Oasis’ “4th Annual Free Yard Giveaway” into the Jewish / Filipino community of Black Hawk Way.  At these Free Yard Giveaway’s, we give out household items, clothing, shoes, toys, etc. plus His precious Word (Hebrew / English Tanakhs, NT and Bibles) are given freely into the community.  This year we were honoured to have Rabbi Andrew Ziedman join us with a team of eager volunteers from his congregation. We had prayed and felt God would have us hold this outreach event on June 25th, 2026, which was soon to be tested.  
​Early in the week, and right up to the event, we were getting weather reports of 70 to 90% chance of rain, thunderstorms and continual bad weather starting the morning of the 25th to late in the evening.  Prayers of faith were brought before the LORD and intercession was made for this important and strategic event as we were to be outside.  The call for prayer went out and we had intercessors praying from Nova Scotia, and Toronto – Canada, the USA and Latin America.  Alan from Nova Scotia commented that he had never been rained out when distributing God’s Holy Word.  God certainly heard our prayers and there was not a drop of rain on the parkette where all were gathered.  This was certainly a step of faith and not one of the workers phoned to ask if we were cancelling.  Also, it was a great testimony as several of the Jewish ladies attending were concerned that the event would be postponed.  The answer was “We prayed.”  The look on their faces was astonishment, that the God of Heaven hears and answers prayer.  We thank all the intercessors for standing with us in agreement for His Will to be done and accomplished, To God Be The Glory!!

​On to Black Hawk Way – here are some of the highlights:
  • Pastor Michael LeClair arrived at the sight alone, and one of our faithful attendees pulled up in his car across the street and helped with the unloading of the tables.  Thanks Timur.
  • Many precious Jewish folks were able to connect with Rabbi Andrew and Pastor Michael with many lively conversations and interesting exchanges.
  • Especially one elderly Jewish man (93 years of age), who had received a Hebrew / English New Testament in the past and his wife took another New Testament for herself.  His wife was very interested in bringing her husband out to a Shabbat service at Rosh Pinah, and we are still in contact with them.
  • Many of the individuals had received Tanakhs in either Hebrew / English or Hebrew / Russian in our past visit to the community.
  • This year 98% of the Jewish people gladly took the Messianic Booklets.
  • ​One Russian Messianic Jewish gentleman named Joseph took several of the Hebrew / Russian Tanakhs, New Testaments and the Messianic Booklets for his personal distribution to Jewish friends.  We will connect with him in the future to see if he wants more of the literature.
  • Many repeat attendees came out to enjoy the fellowship, fresh items and all round joy.  The miraculous change of weather was quite a testimony as some of the ladies thought the event would be cancelled.  It was shared with them that we had prayed, which raised some eyebrows!
  • The team was blessed with coffee provided by Rita and chocolates from YouAnn (even though this was her husband’s private stock of chocolate, which he commented jokingly).
  • During the free draw, one Ukrainian Jewish man won the 1st prize of three silver maples.  He was brought to tears when we delivered his prize and we were able to tell him; we would pray for his wife who is very ill.
  • Opportunities to pray for those who were suffering from sickness in their bodies were also received with great appreciation.
  • Some of the Messianic Jewish ladies from Rosh Pinah were very eager to share the Good News of Yeshua, and commented their excitement at the great conversations they had.
  • Messages of love in a welcome packet were distributed to all inviting them to experience a Messianic Jewish celebration every Shabbat at the Rosh Pinah congregation.
  • A comprehensive message by Pastor Michael was given to every attendee (both Jew and Gentile) entitled “The Suffering Jewish Messiah The Only Hope Of All Nations.”
  • All the labourers served with love, kindness and appreciation for the Jewish and Gentile people they helped with the free goods, the Outreach literature and loving evangelistic conversations and prayer.

Walk For Israel 2026
What a blessing and joy to celebrate, and walk in support of Israel.  It was an excellent time, beautiful weather, good food and without incident.  We joined Rabbi Andrew Zeidman and some of his congregants on the 4.4 km walk.

Passover, Feast of First Fruits Celebration

Partaking in a wonderful Passover meal together.  After our time of fellowship, each one as they so desired shared with the group how Jesus has been their Passover lamb and how He has been their deliverance.  It was with great transparency and love that we expressed our gratitude for the sacrifice, death and resurrection of Jesus on the Cross.

 Mission to Ottawa 2026 - Distribution of Hebrew Scriptures 

God truly answered prayer for this event, Michael and I want to thank all who prayed and interceded for the distribution of Hebrew scriptures in Ottawa, ON Canada.  God's favour was certainly felt, from our drive to the location in Ottawa, the hotel that we chose to stay at, and the placing of our table at the event.
 
As we were setting up our table, God started off the night right away with one of the security guards requesting a Hebrew / English set for his uncle who is Jewish.  He continued on with his duties of security excitedly carrying his set with him.  Our table was initially set up inside the facility area, but due to safety issues we were moved outside the front doors in an excellent spot, divinely ordered of God because everyone needed to pass by our table as they entered and exited the facility.  This was an answer to prayer.   A Jewish man volunteering with security, named Christian passed by and obtained a Hebrew / English set for himself and for his Jewish friend.  It was a blessing to have the Capital City Bikers security/safety Team help us with carrying in our boxes.  We barely had time to setup our display (even though we arrived 1 ½ hours before), when they opened up the doors to a long lineup outside. 
 
As people entered many joyfully engaged with us to obtain Hebrew Scriptures for friends, coworkers, family and other acquaintances.  Here are just some of the highlights. 
  • Janice is a missionary who speaks fluent Hebrew, she took 3 sets of Hebrew / English and one set of Hebrew / Russian to give to Jewish seniors where she volunteers at a Jewish senior’s home.
  • Lada gratefully received a Hebrew / English set for her Jewish cousin who is being married stating the Scriptures are the best gift she could give.
  • A lady picked up a set of Hebrew / English to give to her Jewish friend Larry.
  • A couple with Jewish roots picked up a set for their son who is studying theology and loves studying the Hebrew Scriptures.
  • Mario cherished a Hebrew / Spanish set as he committed to give them to his Jewish friend.
  • Many Jewish individuals picked up sets for themselves and excitedly wanted to share these beautifully made Scriptures with their friends and family.  They were so grateful for the blessing of others so far away to provide these amazing Scriptures with the Jewish people.
  • Miguel, living in Montreal, QC was in attendance and spent a lot of time looking over all that we had brought.  He has many coworkers who are Jewish in Montreal.  He left with 3 sets of Hebrew / English and 3 sets of Hebrew / French.  One of the team members had to help him out with his gifts as he enthusiastically shared his burden for the Jewish people receiving the Scriptures.  He grasped the pamphlet in his hand as he mentioned that he finally has a phone number to contact, as he has tried several times to contact the society in England.
  • Several couples spent much time at the table sharing how they were going to use the Scriptures in their city, people were in attendance from as far away as a 5 hour drive (Kitchener, Toronto, Gatineau, Montreal, and aboriginal peoples).
  • Jennifer expressed an interest to lovingly present her Jewish coworker with the gift of the Scriptures, who had just had a baby several weeks ago.
  • Nickie has contact with a Jewish individual who is working in the school system to bring awareness to Anti Semitism in the schools.  She has many Jewish contacts and gladly took a set of Hebrew / English.
  • Shambare from Zimbabwe took three sets of Hebrew / English as she has worked in facilities with Jewish folks in the past and has many contacts.
  • Four boxes of Hebrew / English Tanakh’s, and the remaining 6 NT Hebrew / English were left with Pastor Rob of Capital City Bikers Church as they had run out of Scriptures to give to their Jewish congregants as well as those they meet in the city of Ottawa.  They have a true love and compassion for the Jewish people with Deuteronomy 34:1-4 printed on the back of their church T shirts.  34 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the Lord shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, 2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, 3 And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.  4 And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.  KJV  They have also joined in celebrating a Passover Seder with Rabbi Charles Shefler from Beth Ariel, Ottawa this past year.  God is truly uniting the Body of Christ.
  • Many expressed comments of knowing of the society, several from their congregations, one Jewish young person from being handed the Hebrew Scriptures at the parliament buildings in Ottawa and one lady has actively participated in volunteering and has given out Scriptures, both in Toronto, ON and in Montreal, QC.
  • Many, many, many were prayed for, to bestow them with wisdom, Divine favour and open doors as they give out the wonderful Hebrew Scriptures of life and hope.
  • We were the last to leave the event other than the sound man and the pastors who were hosting the Worship event team with pizza.  We left full, blessed, and honoured to be able to share the love of the Hebrew Scriptures with so many of God’s precious people – the Jews.  What a priviledge to be able to serve in this capacity and only eternity will know the full impact.   Blessings to those who have organized, printed, donated, shipped, and given of their time.
  • But, God wasn’t finished yet.  The next morning as we were getting our breakfast we had two connections.  One was with a lady from a French congregation in Quebec who gladly took all of the remaining Hebrew / French Scriptures as they have many Jewish people in their city.  As we were transferring over the box of Scriptures to her, one of the event singers – Nizar who we were talking with in the breakfast room (an Arab – Israeli, born in Israel) asked to have a look at the French. Wouldn’t you know it, his wife speaks French.  What a blessing to see this Hebrew / French Tanakh and New Testament travel to Israel for his wife and family.  God is so good.
  • Needless to say, we came home with a lighter load in the trunk of our car, rejoicing, giving God the glory and thanks and all the praise for He has done exceedingly and abundantly, more than we could ask or expect.

We want to express our deepest love and appreciation to everyone who joined us to celebrate the birthdays of Judy, Dianna, Brunelle, Habiba, and Pastor Michael! It was a truly wonderful time filled with good food, fun on the lanes, and beautiful fellowship.

Thank you all, Beloved, for making this such a memorable event. To those who reached out with beautiful cards and gifts—your generosity and love are deeply felt. May the Lord greatly bless you for your kindness.

Congratulations to our "Special Bowling Blessing" winners! 🪙 It was a joy to see the 6 Silver Maples go to our top scorers and consolation winners. As Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive," and sharing that moment with you all was a true gift.

Hurrah to Cris and Judy who will be getting married in a few weeks' time. We love you!
